Go Get: Food Made Free

This is part of my series of blog posts reviewing brands from the Coeliac UK Birmingham Gluten Free Food Fair I attended in September 2015. For an overview of the event, please see my earlier blog post. Other brands from the fair will all be tagged with ‘birmingham gluten free food fair 2015’ so you’ll be able to view them all from this page.

Go Get: Food Made Free is a Birmingham based company who sell both sweet and savoury goodies. The owner is a coeliac so you can be assured that every precaution is made to ensure the products are all safe for coeliacs. I always find it reassuring to learn the people behind the brand are coeliacs, or have coeliacs in the family as I know they’ll understand what it’s like.

We tried a few products from Go Get: Food Made Free. We tried the Sundried Tomato Brazilian Cheesebreads (which my non-coeliac partner adored!), the Sticky Triple Gingerbread, and the Very Berry Flapjack.

I enjoyed them all but I think the stand out product is the Cheesebreads which are different from anything I’ve tried before. They’re quite dense in texture, which of course is common in gluten free products. I don’t know if this is the way Brazilian Cheesebreads are anyway, but it certainly works well in these. The flavour was great too, very moreish. These would be great for a buffet, though you don’t get many in the pack so you’d have to stock up if you are kind enough to share them. Otherwise they’re a great little savoury snack to keep as a treat to yourself!

Go Get: Food Made Free do have a website but it’s currently being worked on – it should be available in the new year. In the meantime if you’re fortunate enough to be local to the West Midlands, you can visit Go Get at the Solihull Christmas Market each Saturday from 28th November through until Christmas. You can also order via their Go Get Birmingham Facebook page. Enjoy!
